Breed Rescue

Although the Magyar Agár is a very rare breed, there is always a possibility for a dog to end up in need of rescue. All NAMAA member breeders are required by the NAMAA Code of Ethics to take back any adults or puppies they have bred in the event that the owner cannot keep the adult dog or puppy for ANY REASON. Member breeders found to be in violation of the Code of Ethics will be expelled.

Due to limited resources, the NAMAA Rescue Program can only take in dogs within North America.

Anyone knowing of a Magyar Agár in need of rescue, please contact Audrey Hsia.

Available for Adoption - Yumi

Yumi is a 7 year old neutered male Magyar Agar. Yumi is a 7 year old, neutered male Magyar Agar. He was originally exported from Hungary at the age of 3, and was just recently surrendered to a local Greyhound rescue group. He is being fostered in Davis until a permanent home can be found for him.

Yumi is a very sweet boy who loves people. He seriously has never met a stranger, and he freely offers kisses to anyone who comes along. Yumi has very strong prey drive and probably should not live with cats, but he does get along with both large and small dogs.

If you are interested in adopting Yumi, contact Audrey Hsia, audrey.hsia@gmail.com
