Registration

The NAMAA offers single registration for dogs not born out of a NAMAA-registered litter, and litter registrations for litters born to NAMAA-registered sires and dams.

Registration Requirements and Eligibility

In order to ensure the accuracy of the North American Magyar Agár Association’s registry and studbook the NAMAA has enacted and adopted the following registration requirements.

Single Registration
Single registration is for dogs not born of a NAMAA-registered litter. All applications for single registration with the NAMAA must comply with the following:

1. Single registration application must be completed and signed by the hound’s owner of record

2. All single registration applications must be accompanied by proof of individual registration with an acceptable foreign or domestic registry for purebred dogs. Acceptable registries include:

a. Any FCI-affiliate kennel club

b. Magyar Agár Tenyésztők Országos Egyesülete (MATOE)

c. The United Kennel Club

3. All single registration applications must include a copy of the hound’s pedigree (at least four generations). Official pedigrees issued by an acceptable foreign or domestic registry are preferred. Unofficial pedigrees are acceptable, but must be signed by the hound’s breeder.

4. All dogs seeking single registration with the NAMAA must be permanently identified with a microchip or tattoo. Proof of microchip or tattoo status must accompany the single registration application. Proof of microchip/tattoo status includes:

a. A signed letter from a licensed veterinarian on his/her veterinary letterhead; OR

b. A copy of the microchip registration certificate or sticker; OR

c. A copy of the tattoo registration certificate from any foreign or domestic tattoo registry.

5. All single registration applications must be accompanied by three color photographs of the hound. All photos must be full-body views of the dog in a standing position and must indicate the age and date of birth of the dog at the time the photos were taken. The dog must not be wearing any costumes or clothing. Specifics for the three photos are as follows:

a. One photo must show the dog’s left hand side in a standing position.

b. One photo must show the dog’s right hand side in a standing position.

c. One photo must show the front of the dog in standing position.

Permanent Registration Via NAMAA-Registered Litters
Puppies from NAMAA-registered litters will receive applications for permanent NAMAA registration, to be completed and submitted at the discretion of the owner or breeder. All applications for permanent registration must comply with the following:

1. Permanent registration application must be completed and signed by both the breeder and the owner/applicant.

2. All dogs seeking permanent registration with the NAMAA must be permanently identified with a microchip or tattoo. Proof of microchip or tattoo status must accompany the single registration application. Proof of microchip/tattoo status includes:

a. A signed letter from a licensed veterinarian on his/her veterinary letterhead; OR

b. A copy of the microchip registration certificate or sticker; OR

c. A copy of the tattoo registration certificate from any foreign or domestic tattoo registry

3. All permanent registration applications must be accompanied by three color photographs of the hound. All photos must be full-body views of the dog in a standing position and must indicate the age and date of birth of the dog at the time the photos were taken. The dog must not be wearing any costumes or clothing. Specifics for the three photos are as follows:

a. One photo must show the dog’s left hand side in a standing position.

b. One photo must show the dog’s right hand side in a standing position.

Litter Registration
Litters born from NAMAA-registered parents are eligible for registration with the NAMAA. All applications for litter registration must comply with the following:

1. Both parents must be permanently or singly registered with the NAMAA

2. Applications for litter registration must be completed by the breeder and signed by the owner(s) of the sire and dam

3. Litters bred via artificial insemination must be verified by a licensed veterinarian in writing, certifying that the semen used (fresh or frozen) is from the dog listed as the sire on the litter registration application.
